Buy in: $110 ($100 prize + $5 rake)
Placed: 16th
Prize: $0
Players: 20
The chip structure for this tournament was unusual. $100 buy-in starts you with 100 chips- and I mean 100 physical chips. 1 full rack. The chips were not denominated so everyone's stack looked like a kid's lego bin. I didn't stick around long enough to find out, but I imagine it was a nightmare near the end when people were pushing around 500 chip stacks.
Mistake hand of the night
Dealt KK in early position, and I make a tiny raise, a few people including the big blind call. The flop is J-high and I continue making small bets til the showdown where 2-pair beats me.
The correct play would have been to bet larger in the beginning, to try to scare off the T8 winning hand before he hit 2 pair.
Observations
I didn't maintain my concentration for this game. Twice I doubled up short stacks calling all-ins with mediocre hands. Maybe I was put off by the chip structure but I should have been more thoughtful with my playing.
